About the publication
A newsroom built around the public record
Our Elected News is an independent civic journalism publication from the team behind OurElected. This page explains what we cover, who publishes the site, how the work is funded, and what readers can expect from our reporting.
The public record, reported
Our Elected News is the independent US civic newsroom of the Our Elected Media network. We publish original, source-first reporting, explanations, briefings, newsletters, and editorial analysis. OurElected.com is our research partner and owns the network’s structured US public-record research.
What we cover
We focus on federal bills and actions, House and Senate roll calls, committee actions, nominations and confirmations, amendments, and treaties. Our aim is to connect reporting to the records a reader can inspect for themselves.
Who publishes this site
Our Elected News is published by Our Elected LLC. Editorial responsibility for everything on this site rests with Craig Belluche, editor.
The publication is produced by the team behind OurElected, a civic information platform that makes government activity easier to follow. The publication and product share a commitment to primary sources, clear explanations, and corrections that remain visible.
Questions, corrections and legal notices reach the editor through our contact page.
How the work is funded
The publication may be supported by subscriptions and clearly identified advertising. Advertisers do not select stories, review coverage before publication, or influence headlines, conclusions, or rankings. Advertising is kept visually and editorially separate from newsroom work.
What readers can expect
Reported work will identify its author, publication date, material updates, and the primary sources that support its central claims. Analysis and opinion will be labeled. Our full commitments are in our editorial standards.
