We correct material errors clearly, promptly, and in the same place readers encountered them.
How to report an error
Use our contact page and include the page address, the specific statement you believe is wrong, and supporting evidence. Correction reports receive priority review. A disagreement with a conclusion is not itself a factual error, but we review relevant evidence and missing context.
How corrections appear
A material correction is attached to the affected story and describes the original error and the corrected information. The story’s update time changes when the correction changes its meaning. We do not erase a material mistake without a note.
